Electrical Engineer – Building Design

CASCO is a leading national engineering and architecture firm with five divisions working across a broad variety of sectors including early childhood education, hospitality, medical, assisted living, industrial, retail, office, mixed-use, and governmental.

CASCO is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its Maplewood headquarters to be an integral part of its design teams on a wide variety of work. We are looking for someone eager for growth and opportunity, who will enjoy working with complete in-house project teams and directly with our leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical engineering design tasks for power systems, electrical distribution, indoor/outdoor lighting, as well as systems such as communications, access control, security, IT, and fire alarm.
  • Develop electrical calculations for loads, equipment sizing, feeder sizing, voltage drop, grounding, lighting circuits and controls, facility electrical service and power distribution, as well as lighting photometric calculations.
  • Provide utility coordination and system design of low and medium voltage distribution systems.
  • Produce building designs and develop construction drawings within software modeling applications such as Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Proactively collaborate in-person and remotely with multi-discipline design teams in executing projects.
  • Effectively coordinate with internal and external members of the design team.
  • Conduct site visits when required.
  • Editing of MasterSpec project specifications.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • 4+ years of relevant post education experience in an electrical engineering capacity
  • Engineer in Training Certification (PE preferred)
  • Experience with electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design, and construction.
  • Experience using the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other electrical standards.
  • Experience using software applications Revit or AutoCAD for electrical designs.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
